SILVA Expedition S features an easy-to-use case, silicone rubber feet for precise map work, removable scale ring with safety release, night-activated luminous markers, a magnifying glass, map measurement scales in mm or inches, 1:25,000, 1:50,000 and GPS scales – plus built-in adjustment for magnetic declination (including permanent local adjustment). The Expedition S can also take map readings at 1:40,000 scale and has an inclinometer for measuring tilt angle and 45-degree angle support for the mirror bearing function.

This compass has a built-in mirror that lets you see the compass disk and the background at the same time. The fact that the compass disk can be seen at the same time as the reference point makes mirror compasses better for accurate bearing.
